There’s truly nothing more certain in this world than a promise of God. When God commits himself to something and makes a promise, it’s the surest thing there is.

Why? Because he has the power to see it through—nothing can stand in his way or stop it from happening. And, because his character doesn’t bear the saying of one thing and doing of another. His character is perfect integrity. He not only tells the truth, he is the Truth. That means when you pray for wisdom in your work (or anywhere in your life), you’d better get ready to receive it for one simple reason—he promised to give it to you when you ask.

You need God’s wisdom to carry out what you are doing at work. You are ultimately working for him and doing the work of his kingdom—whatever your individual role at the firm. And to do any of that, you need for him to show you his ways, to reveal his will in leading you even through the mundane matters of the work day, and to give you creativity, insight, and energy to make the difference that you are making in your clients’ lives, in your co-workers’ lives, and in the world for the Kingdom of God.

Be sure that you seek that wisdom today. And be very sure that once you ask, you look for it, embrace it, and use it, because there is no chance at all that it won’t be there.

Peace and every blessing of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit be on you, your family, the firm, and your clients on this day that the Lord Himself has made. Shalom!

Reflect:

Do you ask for wisdom from God when you need it?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how certain are you that God will give you wisdom when you ask?
Ask God today for the wisdom to trust his promise with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Choose one area where you need wisdom this week, and practice living expectantly for it.
